Cassidy Phillips - mentored by Karl Kuhn

I met Karl after watching one of his excellent technical presentations in New York City. We spoke of the importance of synthesizing information and processing it for a defined audience. Karl is a master of this and the advice he gave me that day immediately cemented him as a mentor. Karl is a great listener and can read emotional cues to adjust his messaging in real time. Not only does this help him communicate with me, but I have always tried to emulate this social skill in my own life.

When I moved from NYC to Washington DC, I didn't know anyone and, I was in need of professional contacts. Karl offered detailed and relevant advice which launched a distinctly new career for me. For the past seven years, Karl has remained a source of valuable counsel and insight as I navigate each step up in professional experience.

If you are looking for a mentor who will make the effort to understand your personal leadership goals and provide a fresh perspective, I recommend Karl Kuhn.   For me, each conversation has provided rocket fuel.

I met Karl when he was working at IBM. We have continued to work with each other since then. He has given me direction on financial advice, dealing with colleagues, coworkers and customers, often leaning on examples from his professional career to help me cement ideas and give me perspective. He is a sounding board who helps me deal with immediate issues while always keeping me on track with my long term goals.

Anyone who spends a few minutes with Karl will quickly realize he is a unique person with a talent for seeing the big picture. He has been immensely helpful throughout the majority of my career. He is a great listener and cares about what he is doing. He has a unique way of helping me find the answer without just giving me the answer. I would highly recommend Karl if you are looking to get the most out of your career choices and goals

I have a thirty year history with Karl, first as a valued technology mentor, and later in his role as a leadership coach. The fit as a leadership coach is a natural for him as I have watched him mentor many professionals over that same time. He has the right mix (and many coaches do not) of being able to listen, cut to the core of what is holding people back, and guide them to success. I have seen him do it over and over again.

As a result of what I have seen in Karl as he transitioned to Leadership Coaching (after a lifetime of doing it without the title), I am proud to take Karl and Sherwood Insights as my first ever strategic partner for larger projects and places where our expertise melds. If you choose him as a coach, you will be glad you did.
